Non-steroidal selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM), orally active.
S23 (English name S23; CAS 1010396-29-8) is a synthetic NON-steroidal compound belonging to the class of selective androgen receptor modulators (SARM). With molecular formula C18H13ClF4N2O3 and an approximate molecular weight of 416.75 g/mol, it is a small orally active molecule in research models, designed to interact selectively with the androgen receptor.
S23's mechanism of action is based on its high-affinity binding to the androgen receptor (AR). Unlike steroidal androgens, SARMs aim for a tissue-selective action: in preclinical models, this class of compounds is characterized by anabolic activity on muscle and bone tissue with lower activity on other tissues.
